Help me give my students printer ink, books, and basic supplies for a smooth learning environment. Your donations will help our classroom stay organized so that students spend time thinking rather than organizing materials.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have had the privilege of serving the most tenacious and hardworking students that come from many diverse living conditions. Despite the challenges my students may face in and outside of the classroom, I always try to make the classroom a loving environment, where they know that they are seen, heard, and valued as a member of our classroom community. I want them to know every time they enter the classroom that despite their circumstances, things can and will change.
Our school vision is to create a multicultural community that will prepare and educate all students to be self-motivated, independent, lifelong learners who are leaders impacting change for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Year after year, our school community has achieved success towards this vision. Our students' academic scores continue to increase, but, more importantly, students are developing and growing reading and writing habits of mind and life.
Our school focuses on differentiated instruction. Your donations will help our classroom book clubs. In groups, students will pick a book to read together. They will meet multiple times a week to discuss their book and learn reading strategies to better comprehend the book. We will pair their book with other texts or sources to synthesize their knowledge. The printer ink will print supplemental texts to pair with their book club book. Students will use the post-its, binder clips, flags, sharpie, and stickers to mark up their book to prepare for their book discussions.
