Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our classroom, my students love to work independently in our special seats. Getting out of their chairs and into a comfortable work space allows students to have better focus and to be more productive workers. Unfortunately, our classroom currently has only a few alternative options for students to sit during independent work. These few flexible seating options are often in high demand, and students are unable to sit in these special spots very often.

A wider variety of flexible seating options would be beneficial for my second graders.

This would allow students to choose alternative seating options more frequently. By having more flexible seating choices, students will be able to take responsibility in choosing a "smart spot" where they can work in the way that engages and motivates them the most. The comfy floor seats and rocker chairs will give alternative places for students to focus on doing their best work!
