STEAMing Through the Day!

Help me give my students a way to keep their iPads charged for STEAM lessons, science books for our library, and a Spirograph in order to make geometric art.

My Project

Our school district just went 1:1 with iPads, so every student has an iPad that they use during school and take home to use. This helps to even the digital divide because some can afford a device on their own, and some can't. The problem that we are having is not all of our students remember to charge their devices each night. This charging cart will give us a central location for our students to get a quick charge at different times of the day. The color charging cables will allow us to color code each charging slot to help the students locate their devices within the cart. With fully charged tablets, our students can work on all of the STEM/STEAM-related activities we are working on throughout the day. Just today, some of our students were walking around the building to find examples of geometry in everyday objects throughout the building. The students used their iPads to take pictures of these objects for this digital scavenger hunt. You should have seen how much fun they were having while learning. Each group had big smiles as they were locating things!

The books will help provide our library with more science books in biology, physics, experiments, and making.

The book display holders will allow us to display these books on our shelves. The Spirograph will help us bring the A in STEAM. It will enable my students to create geometric shapes artistically. This will be a fantastic addition to our library makersapce area!
