This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a nature explorer school which allows children to be free and explore nature. We love the fact that when our children are at school, it is as if they are at the park. Our main priority is exposure to the elements of nature and the implementation of S.T.E.A.M in our nature explorer program. As we cultivate the intellect of our children, we will ensure that our children are exposed to the latest technology in each classroom. Secondly, we are devoted to providing professional development to our staff members as it relates to integrating technology into the classroom. Our parent engagement component consists of technology training for our parents to help strengthen the home-school connection and ensure that we are working together for the success of all of the children we serve. Our community partners Home Depot and the Los Angeles community Gardening Project are committed to helping staff, students, and parents raise the bar on science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics in our school.

My Project

Our project will encourage student to use nature to create art. We want to increase awareness of preserving the natural environment and educate children on protecting the environment. By incorporating S.T.E.A.M. into the daily curriculum, the children will learn how to use technology to sustain the environment. The children will be exposed to the natural elements as well as the elements of science. The children will use the new material to create new ways of thinking. The new material will encourage critical thinking skills to solve problems while they explore their environment.
