Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently working with 25 amazing students who are all from diverse backgrounds. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. Our school is located in South Los Angeles, where most students are under served.
Our school serves Pre-K-5th grades and is located in the Crenshaw corridor that serves approximately 420 students school-wide.
Five principles guide our work: innovation, critical thinking, learning, preserving, and leadership. Our scholars are motivated, innovative and eager to learn!
My Project
These much needed headphones will dramatically increase our learning and productivity! Each student should be able to clearly and accurately listen to what their computer has in store for them.
Your generous donation will also support small group instruction!
Our school uses online programs for math and ELA that focus on differentiation. During this time, I am able to facilitate small group instruction because I know the other students in the classroom are working on various skills on their computer.
These materials will also keep students engaged and accountable to their learning. We use computers, laptops and iPads to present different types of projects. Before that, students must attend to detail, revise, edit and publish their work. Having access to headphones will personalize and support their process!
