My Students
My 6th grade students are the future scientists of the world. Coming from many different backgrounds and speaking a variety of languages, they apply their prior knowledge and lived experiences to enhance their learning each day.
In my classroom, I strive to create hands-on, culturally relevant lessons that address real-world issues.

My Project
The first STEAM activity my students will participate in is building spaghetti and marshmallow towers. The goal of this activity is to build the tallest tower that supports a marshmallow, using just raw spaghetti and tape. Every year, my students love this activity. It challenges them to think critically with their peers, while also bringing joy into my classroom.
To incorporate technology into my classroom, I have created a design-your-own coding bracelet activity.
Students will learn the principles of coding while using different colored beads to represent the 1s and 0s of computer language. Best of all, they have a final product that they can wear home!
