Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"I am a champion of learning in every way." This is part of our school creed that our students recite every week during our morning assembly. Everyone in my class is trying their best to soar academically, artistically, and peacefully because they know they are the champions of learning.
My fourth grade classroom consists of 27 students who are excited about learning.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students receive free breakfast, free lunch, and free supper for those who stay after school. Most of my students face many challenges inside and outside school, and they work very hard to overcome these challenges.
My Project
There are many reasons why I would like to have iPads in my classroom. Since a lot of my students are working on or below grade level, iPads would allow me to present concepts in a more visually engaging and appealing way. I would be able to utilize apps that would help my students with specific skills and use learning games to reinforce the skills I teach. The use of an iPad is not only motivating, but it is much easier to differentiate learning for each child. Students can learn at their own pace and work on the skills they need most.
As a STEAM school, we want our students to think like an engineer, work like an engineer, and grow up to be an engineer one day.
We want our students to be excited about Mathematics and Science, and these iPads will help them get closer in achieving their goals.
By donating iPads to our classroom, you will give my students opportunities they wouldn't otherwise have. These iPads would provide my students with differentiated practice for the skills they need most and make learning fun!
