Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We are starting our second year of problem solving through STEAM class for our middle school students that will use the IBMYP design cycle process. Students will develop their skills in communication, decision making, time management, team building, and creativity by working in small groups to solve their project dilemma. Using STEAM problems in our classroom connects student learning to real world issues and provides hands-on learning to develop a variety of skill sets.

We need to replace consumable items such as masking tape, packing tape, clear tape, and pencils along with easily broken items such as scissors and rulers for our next school year.

Students will be able to use the equipment to build led illuminated name plates, boats, motorized cars, stop animation movies, air rockets, and many more planned projects. The real world applications gives students that valuable answer to why are we learning this and when will we every use this. The interdisciplinary approach of STEM removes the barriers separating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by integrating the into relevant learning experiences for our students.
