Our STEAM spaces need to update supplies to finish our year strong for our ceramics & metals spaces! These supplies will help us upgrade and update our kiln with new stilts, cement finishing, replenish our glaze supplies, and more! I am so excited to finish our year strong with our ceramics classes. Your donation will carry over into the fall so my student's can start the year strong. These supplies will not only help all my student in their normal classes but also help with our end of the year community event where we will be making planters for plants to give to our community. They also will support next years STEAM collaborations where we hope to run a raku kiln firing with students who are studying how to grow and maintain bonsai plants. They will be building their own planters out of ceramics while researching how the affect of the planters they design and construct support and influence the plants' growth and health over time. We also will be running a class studying our oceans and coral bleaching in collaboration with the science department where we will be designing and constructing a coral reef that represents how our climate is affecting our oceans, and thus how the oceans affect us as humans and future impacts on humanity. All projects will include needing transfer paper and glaze to complete their design. Finally my students need new stylus pens so we can continue to expand and grow our digital art and STEAM program to include digital medias. Our students come from all different socio-economic backgrounds and include students from both urban and suburban communities in Colorado and the Denver Metro.
