My Project

My goal for my 2nd grade classroom is for it be a place of WONDER and ENCHANTMENT - where students are able to be curious about the world around them and explore in a safe space where it is okay and even encouraged to make mistakes! In the words of Ms. Frizzle, "Take chances! Make mistakes! Get messy!"

The science, art, reading, and math supplies I am requesting all support a hands-on learning experience for my students where DISCOVERY is the main focus.

The plant supplies will be used during our upcoming science unit, as we explore what plants need to survive. The craft supplies will be used throughout the year for various art projects. The math manipulatives will be used in collaborative groups during math time. The flashlights are for a fun reading experience called "Flashlight Friday" where we turn off the lights and students use only flashlights to read their books. The bookmarks are a fun reading and homework reward!

I believe that hands-on learning is not only the key to academic success, but to social and emotional well-being as well! Students need to feel ownership over their learning and like their ideas and questions matter. Thank you so much for helping to give these amazing experiences to my students!
