Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from different types of backgrounds. Many of my students are the first generation who attend high school and desire an opportunity to improve their family and community. My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects, and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances to grow both personally and academically. Honestly, they are my inspiration!

Sphero Robots allow students to knock down barriers.

Students will be exposed beyond coding and incorporate robotics and technology with collaborative STEAM activities which will ignite their imaginations. They will be given challenges for the robots and have to not only program the robots, but design STEM solutions as well!

My Project

The students I work with look for greater opportunities to help learn more than what they are learning in class. The experiences with working with STEM-related material will invigorate their desire to move into more STEM-related classes, projects, and careers into the Science and Tech fields.

With this Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) tool, students will learn hands-on programming, as well as share their creations with our school community using the Sphero Edu app.

Robots and apps introduce STEM concepts by combining robotics and coding. Students will be able to program their bot to navigate a maze, program a painting, mimic the solar system, and more.

Students will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with their peers and the academic possibilities are endless. They will explore STEAM principles and learn today’s (and the future’s) ever-changing technology. Sphero is incredibly versatile and easily integrated into a variety of learning initiatives. This will be wonderful to implement into all areas of a cross-curricular classroom!
