My Project
Garden literature and an umbrella for our picnic table will increase my students' knowledge of the garden curriculum we are implementing at our school as we work towards STEAM certification and allow them to sit outside and immerse themselves in the garden with necessary shade from the sun. I would like to provide my students with a host of various reading materials, both literature and informational text that can help create an immersive learning experience as they research and plan the garden beds and plantings, work, cultivate, and maintain the garden, and enjoy reading literature, eating, and inhaling/exhaling in the natural space we have created.
Garden literature and a picnic table umbrella will enhance the STEAM learning that we do in our garden, with resources they can use to research and plan.
Our students are special in that they truly want to learn and appreciate the learning experiences we provide for them. They build upon each other's ideas and give their best effort in spite of what many would recognize as obstacles to overcome.
Our school is going full speed ahead with our STEAM curriculum as our students learn all about gardening and where their food comes from. My goal is for my students to spark a lifetime love of life and learning, and what better way than to provide our students with as much knowledge and immersive learning experiences. This colorful and informative garden literature and informational text will help develop in our students the spark for our natural world and how to care for it!
