Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In the STEAM lab, students learn that science, tech, engineering and mathematics can be creative, exciting, and fun. We have a positive classroom environment that embraces 21st century learning.
My students are incredibly diverse, coming from families that speak languages from all around the world.
My school is a place where these learners, who often struggle, are embraced and supported with a positive learning environment. Project-based learning, personalized learning, and multi modal instruction make sure that every student has an opportunity to learn something exciting.
My Project
The books requested in this project will be used in our classroom library as a resource for students for class activities and as a source of inspiration. The highly visual STEM books I have requested will promote literacy among my students, providing high-interest books that will engage them with the process of reading and the content of our STEM classroom.
Kids need to learn that reading can be exciting, that science is fascinating, and that they can comprehend complex ideas even if they struggle with language.
High-interest STEM books will generate enthusiasm and curiosity in this high need environment!
