My Project
The STEAM project will use 3D printing to integrate art into STEM education (transforming STEM into STEAM) for our students. Through hands-on design projects, students will combine science, technology, engineering, and math with creative expression, producing tangible art-based outcomes that demonstrate real-world problem-solving, innovation, and personal voice. The goal is to empower students to think like both artists and engineers using 3D printing as a creative tool.
By incorporating art into STEM, we will promote engagement across learning styles, improve design-thinking skills, and foster inclusivity in technical disciplines.
In traditional STEM curricula, artistic creativity and personal expression are often underrepresented, despite being essential for innovation. Many of our students lack access to advanced technology like 3D printers and software tools that encourage creative engineering. Our culminating activity will be a student-designed “STEAM Art Expo” to showcase final 3D-printed works and celebrate creative problem-solving.
