Bioluminescence exists in living organisms around the world. Help my students explore how science can connect to art in this STEAM lesson. Students will explore animals and insects with bioluminescence, then they will create their own artwork inspired by this exploration. They will incorporate the elements of art in their final works of art.
For my students, creating art is about exploring themselves and the world around them.
The materials for this project will be used by multiple grade levels, as they each get to explore the reactive qualities when exposed to the blacklights. The blacklight bars will allow us to create while experiencing the light reactions during class. They will be used later as a part of our school art show.
