Help me give my students Lenovo laptops, LEGO building sets, Keva planks, measuring tools, pencil sharpeners, copy paper, and glue sticks to supplement the materials we already have to provide additional hands-on STEAM experiences.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a small, culturally diverse school with students from Pre-K through fifth grade. Our students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds and have diverse learning needs.
My students will be some of our future artists, engineers, scientists, mathematicians, authors, politicians, and teachers.
My students have a love of learning and are hungry for knowledge. They are inquisitive. They strive to be successful. My students love using technology and participating in hands-on learning activities but have limited access to technology or STEAM in the classroom.
My Project
STEAM education provides students with more educational and career choices in their future. As a class, we are beginning to learn about science, technology, engineering, art, and math and why these fields are important in our society.
By donating to this project, you are increasing my students’ access to hands-on STEAM activities.
My students learn far more through hands-on activities than any other mode of learning, and STEAM activities provide many hands-on experiences for my students.
We would like laptops so students in our class can practice their learning through the use of educational games, learn how to use various computer programs, and conduct research for science, social studies, and health projects as well as for informative writing topics. The Keva planks and LEGO building set will help develop my students’ understanding of engineering principals. The weights and volume sets are intended to help my students learn about volume and weight during our math lessons.
We will use the glue and paper as part of our interactive math notebooks, science and social studies notebooks, and art lessons. The pencil sharpeners will help us have sharp pencils and colored pencils not only for writing and math lessons but also for sketching out engineering ideas, coloring our art, and taking notes and illustrating in our science, social studies, and health notebooks.
