I have the amazing job of helping young students in grades K-6 to grow creatively. As an elementary art teacher, I have had the honor of following these children throughout their childhood and witnessing how they see their worlds through their art.
I strive to keep engagement in my art classes high by learning new ideas and innovative teaching methods to bring to my students.
I love to challenge my students by showing them new ways to think critically and creatively as they prepare to become 21st-century learners.
My Project
The National Art Education Conference is the premier event for art educators from around the country for professional development. Thousands of art professionals gather annually to share best practices, innovations, and inspiration through presentations, keynotes, and workshops. This year's annual conference will be held in Minneapolis, MN.
This year, I am thrilled to be presenting how I integrate STEAM into my classroom through a rigorous project that uses mechanical engineering in the creation of Automata or mechanical sculptures.
It is so important for me to attend this conference to showcase my students' work. In addition, attending this conference will help me learn from other inspiring educators, which I can, in turn, bring back to my eager students!
