Every morning, our school shouts out our motto, which describes them as being leaders, responsible, respectful, resourceful, and proud. My students follow this motto in school and in life.
My students come from a city that has been considered one of the most dangerous cities in America.
Despite that, they are creating their own path to a successful future. It amazes me to see how fully engaged they are to learn each and every day. I feel privileged to teach such a great group of kids.
My Project
My students are naturally creative students. As their teacher, I want to tap into their creativity in our STEAM room. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Our science curriculum is based around doing STEAM activities.
My students need these materials to dive into STEAM activities to brighten their creative minds!
My students need construction paper, gum drops, mini marshmallows, big marshmallows, dixie cups, and pipe cleaners to complete these STEAM challenges. An example of one of our STEAM challenges is to design a spaghetti tower that can hold a marshmallow on top. Another example is to design a gumdrop Christmas Tree. My students will be able to use these material on many different STEAM challenges throughout the year!
