STEAM Lab for NDES!

My students need Learning Resources for our school's new STEAM Lab. I hope to have activities for various grade levels at our school. I especially think the Engineering Centers will be big hit!

My Students

Our school serves 540 students from small rural towns. Half of our students are on the free or reduced lunch program, and many are a part of our backpack club that receives food to take home over weekends and breaks.

Our learners are energetic, thrive on positive attention / support in the classroom, and love to make personal connections to what they are learning about.

They love engaging activities where they can be active learners, share their ideas, and work with each other.

We are a family centered school of educators that believes it takes a village! They are never MY students or YOUR students - they are OUR students.

My Project

Our school would like to have a STEAM Lab that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities to enrich our school community. This project will cater to all grade levels, and providing enrichment to help us continue to grow and build on 21st Century skills and ways of thinking.

When students attend our STEAM Lab they will receive guided projects that will lead to student inquiry, dialog, and critical thinking.

Every experience in the STEAM Lab will provide new and exciting tasks that will facilitate student collaboration and use of higher level thinking skills. This program will be interactive, inviting, and engaging.

To make this possible our school will need your help gaining materials that will have students looking forward to their next trip to the STEAM Lab. The Design & Build Engineering Centers will be great for our younger students. I consulted with a 5th grader whom said they're most excited about the Create-A-Chain Reaction STEM Kit. The Playground Engineering & Design STEM Set will also be used to add enrichment to an art project I already am doing with first graders. I believe the magnetic building tiles will be fun for all grade levels.
