My Students

Each day I get to walk into a classroom of students that are from all over the world. They each bring something different to the classroom. They all are at different stage in their English Language Development and that bring a new and different perspective to the classroom. I love working with such a diverse population.

Getting to teach in a school where we embrace diversity and are proud of it makes me love my job even more.

Getting to teach a group of students that can challenge me in my way of teaching makes me excited to try new things and think outside the box to figure out how they best learn and then to go with that. I love that i am always looking for new way to challenge them and engage them in their learning. When I challenge them they are more engaged in the learning process and school isn't such a chore for them.

My Project

STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math. By providing legos for my students to use I will be able to expand their thinking about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Legos are not just toys that kids play with at home. They are tools that help students think in a different way when doing projects in class.

Boards games will be used during STEAM time to encourage higher level thinking and communication between students working to solve problems.

Being able to have headphones for each student in class will make their time on their Chromebooks more effective because they will actually be able to listen and hear what the programs they are using are saying.

I believe that these resources are beneficial for my students and will only push them further in their learn at school and in life.
