This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are curious, active and very lovable! These students are fourth through sixth grade children at at Title I school. Our students are very diverse in every way and many suffer from multiple traumas. Many of them come from low income families, foster homes, the reservation, living with grandparents or family other than their parents. Even though many of our students come from difficult backgrounds, they come to school with smiles on their faces, they are hard working, loving, and they are easy to love!
My Project
I am requesting a variety of STEAM games. Games are a great way to get students' brains thinking and create community within the classroom, all while having fun. These games will be used when students first come into my classroom in the morning. Students need time to connect with each other and get their brains working before the day begins. These games will provide this for them.
These games will also be used to enhance lessons and to provide opportunities for me to connect with my students in a fun and engaging way.
Children tend to open up and let you get to know them when they are also doing something fun at the same time.
