The students in my classroom are very creative, inquisitive, and love hands-on learning. Our school is located in a rural area of our county. Many students are unable to explore opportunities in science, technology, or engineering due to financial constraints based on their socioeconomic status.
Our district's mission is to provide our students with a 21st Century Learning environment that will prepare them for the future.
By having resources with my classroom, I able to provide students with the opportunities within the school setting.
My students love STEAM activities, and providing them with materials such as LEGO and K'NEX kits will help them foster these skills.
Despite the lack of opportunities that my students have, it is very exciting to see their passion for learning each and every day.
Developing 21st Century skills in students today is very important. I have found that developing STEAM bins or activity tables in my classroom is an excellent way to help my students achieve these skills.
Having LEGO and K'NEX materials as part of my STEAM activities will allow students in my classroom to collaborate and connect while developing skills in science, technology, engineering, and math.
By supporting this project, my students will continue to be engaged through the use of these materials while strengthening their skills in math, writing, science, technology, and engineering. Being able to work together collectively and collaboratively will also develop the skills needed to be 21st Century learners and prepare them for the future.
