Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our elementary school has just become a "STEAM" school. Art has always been a "STEAM" area because it includes science, math, engineering and technology. Art is a wonderful subject because it can provide many interdisciplinary connections across the board. It enriches the lives of everyone.

My students are elementary art students who love to express themselves using art media of any sort.

Our school is Title One and in a very impoverished area of a large city. The parents are new to our country and community and very eager for their children to get a good education and go to college. My students love technology and often request to print out certain images that I don't have readily available. They also like to research on the computer and print out art information. My students love art and are very creative. One of their favorite things to make is cards for family members who are having birthdays. Art is a place where they can relax and make things to give to other family members.

My Project

I am requesting black and colored ink for our printer that we can use in my art classes. Often students are interested in drawing pictures of current cartoons and action figures and need a reference sheet printed. I am also requesting white and colored card stock. We often use a heavier paper for 3d paper construction or to make cards. Both of these items are supplies that help our art classes run smoothly.

In our art classes, we often print out images from the computer.

The ink supply makes sure that we are always ready to print when we want. The card stock is to be used also in our art projects when we need a more durable paper. All these items are necessary parts of our daily art classes. Please consider donating to us for these important and useful supplies.
