My Students
With over 85% free and reduced lunch, my students are not afforded the opportunity that their more affluent peers often have. We have begun a STEAM school within our school to meet their desire to learn through technology.
The students explore the out of doors to connect and learn.
With the STEAM school, they are given the chance to explore the world around them and question the how and why things work. My scientists love to solve problems and when they fail they know they have to find a new way that may work.
My Project
Most of my students in my class have not learned to camp with their families. These tents will allow me to teach my students how to camp. This would include teaching them to set up tents and cooking their own meals. They will learn that they can camp and might even take their families.
I would like to show my students how much fun learning in the out of doors can be.
Owning our own tents will also allow us to travel farther to see more of our beautiful Oregon. I hope to take my students to visit the high desert this spring. We will explore hands-on geology lessons.
