Help me give my students a paper making experience. We will make paper for collage projects and learn about recycling at the same time. I am also including some engineering building manipulatives to create steam centers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am returning to this school after teaching somewhere else for a year. I feel like I am coming home, as I know most of the students and I am familiar with the school structure. I am going to provide these students with consistent creative learning experiences to strengthen their creative problem solving skills.
My students live in an impoverished community.
Gang activity is high and these students have many challenges to face at very young ages. I want to inspire my students to rise above these challenges, to meet or exceed any expectation of anything less than success.
My Project
My students will learn about paper making as an art form from recycle paper. We will learn how to make paper and encorporate paper into collage and paintings. The grant includes two molds and a paper press as well as other paper making supplies. We will learn a new art form as we learn about recycling.
My grant includes engineering building manipulatives.
These building manipulatives will teach students to make something from nothing. through creative play, students will work together to build with gears, shapes and colors. My students will use their creative problem solving skills as they make and build together.
