My Students

I am returning to Gaston County for the 19-20 school year, after working in a different county for the past three school years. I am excited to be returning to the town that I grew up in and received my education, so that I may have the chance to give something back. I will be working in a Title 1 school, and I will be serving a community that generally falls below the poverty line.

Students can succeed with STEAM/STEM and coding, and it is also really fun!

Through a variety of activities, I have seen my previous students shine brighter than ever before by doing these activities. I've seen them learn new and relevant knowledge, but more importantly, I've seen them learn to problem-solve and work with others to complete a task using appropriate communication. These are simple skills that can go a long way for any individual. Also, these tasks touch on fields that my students could grow to love, and eventually study and work in.

As a dedicated educator, I truly believe that every student has the possibility to learn and succeed. They only must be given the knowledge and tools for success.

My Project

These items can make such a difference in the lives of my students. STEAM and coding can inspire students to work hard to achieve their goals. I've seen previous students just light up with excitement and become so confident in themselves after completing just one task.

Students will learn valuable life skills such as communication and teamwork that are needed to complete a task.

They will learn valuable content knowledge while completing tasks that almost seem like a game! STEAM and coding are beginning to be incorporated into the regular curriculum as well in order to teach these critical skills to students in order to better prepare them.
