Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day my thirty wonderful second grade students gather on the carpet for whole group instruction. They are eager to learn and full of amazing ideas. Together we create amazing projects and explore a variety of topics.

These students don't always have the best supplies, but they show such ingenuity with the limited materials they have.

The kids in my class are 100% low income free breakfast and lunch and about 90% are English Language learners. They have the special challenge of mastering English alongside all of the other important topics.

Using project based learning provides amazing opportunities for collaboration and conversational skills as well as problem solving.

My Project

My students need laptops to create science reports, practice typing, learn coding and generally prepare for their futures.

Laptops are a critical STEAM tool that students will absolutely require in their futures.

Preparing students for high school, college and beyond begins at a young age. Teaching students how to use and care for laptops as well as how to safely research topics and write out their ideas at a young age will put them ahead of the game for their futures.

Having laptops in the classroom will allow students to learn and create in new ways that were not accessible to them previously.
