Staying to Battle in the Dome

Help me give my students the ability to travel to Wisconsin Dells and stay in a hotel to compete in both the JV and Varsity Tournaments in The Dome (Wisconsin Dells).

My Students

Legendary coach, Dan Gable once said, “Once you’ve wrestled in life, everything else in life is easy.” This was said because of the countless hours wrestlers spend in the practice room, working on their craft. The trials and tribulations they endure in the practice room and in competition, is what prepares them to be able to conquer obstacles that they meet in real-life. Our wrestlers work incredibly hard to be able to test their skills against the best competitors in the state, but what is even more important is their ability to use the skills they learn in wrestling and competition to help them in life such as teamwork, dedication and perseverance.

It is our goal to teach our wrestlers these life skills so they become responsible adults.

Weekly our wrestlers volunteer with the youth athletic clubs in our community. Wrestling is a great vehicle to teach our student-athletes about community service and the importance of giving back.

My Project

Student-athletes who are part of our Wrestling Team will be given the opportunity to stay in the Glacier Canyon Lodge with their fellow teammates, compete at the Dome in Wisconsin Dells at either the JV tournament or Varsity Dual tournament, and best of all – spend some quality time both wrestling, playing and staying with their teammates for these two tournaments.

The experience of competing in such a unique venue (The Dome) and against teams we usually do not see is a great experience for all of our wrestlers from JV through Varsity.

In a society where learning empathy and making personal connections is a challenge, and often finical backgrounds restrict experiences for high school student-athletes, this is a great opportunity for students to see a different part of our state and to spend some time with teammates during some down time in the water park. The friendships that are strengthened during this weekend trip can and hopefully will last a lifetime.
