This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at our middle school are hardworking, creative, compassionate, and driven towards excellence. They are eager to take on the challenges of changing our world in a positive way and are ready to use their musical voices as a guiding force in creating change.

The communities we serve are vibrant and diverse.

Although many of our students face daily challenges in the neighborhoods they live in, they do so with optimism, integrity, and pride. As teachers, we strive to give them a place that elevates their voices.

My Project

For years my students have been using cheaply made cardboard folders to house their method books and sheet music. Despite years of taping, stapling and glueing, these folders are pretty much useless at this point. The books and music frequently get torn and folded as a result of the decimated folders they are in.

The Band and Orchestra Concert Folders we are requesting would help students keep their music organized and in good shape, allowing them to focus on what truly matters - making music!

Our students deserve quality folders that look nice and function well.

These folders will be used by every student in my beginning band class for years to come.
