My Project

A few years ago, I created a clean water station in our classroom. We have a Brita pitcher and reusable water bottles for each of the students. This was a student-run station that they filled and kept clean each day. I loved that it helped keep the kids hydrated and cut down on the number of trips to the water fountain each day. I would like to get a new set of materials for them to use next year as well.

I would love to be able to provide each of my rising first graders with their own personalized water bottle!

Not everyone in my class can always afford a water bottle. I like to try to avoid students having to worry if they will have a water bottle or not by providing one for each of them. I added sponges and a drying mat so that the bottles can be cleaned often and stored at school. I have learned the hard way that if you send a water bottle home with students, most of them never come back. I also added a label maker so that I can easily label each of the bottles with my students' names. I would hate for them to accidentally mix up their bottles!
