My Students

Tick tock, help us learn to tell time while we stay healthy! Our STEM second grade students would like their own analog watches to learn to tell time as they time themselves to wash their hands, brush their teeth and play.

We are the second grade classes from a low income public school in Glendale, AZ.

Funding is very limited in our community, and many students face great challenges. We are 50 students who don't know how to tell time and do not have a watch to practice with.

My Project

This kid-inspired project is a perfect way for my students to learn to tell time and stay healthy. My students are always asking me to tell them the time and looking at my watch. They want to know what time we have PE, lunch, recess, science, math, and other activities. They would like their own watch to help them keep track of time and use for healthy habit challenges. Students struggle to learn how to tell time, but with a watch of their own they will soon be expert time tellers. Not only will they be on time, but students will time washing their hands, brushing their teeth, running and other healthy habit activities.

With your help this kid-inspired project will give every 2nd grader at our school their very first watch to time their own healthy habit challenges!
