My Project
As we come to the close of winter, we have been working hard to help all students stay healthy through the many sicknesses and bugs going through the community. Students need a soft tissue to use while in school, doing their best to be present in our learning, despite potentially having the sniffles. Every day, we are working to keep our classroom clean and sanitized by wiping down our desks and high touch surfaces. Having extra Clorox wipes helps to make sure that we can keep our space disinfected and stop the spread of germs! We want to make sure students are able to stay healthy and be in school to participate in our learning as much as possible.
In addition to staying healthy through illnesses, students need to have snacks and a break throughout the day to help keep their stomachs full and their minds alert.
In a school with many low-income students, some students cannot bring snacks from home, they may forget, or they may arrive late to school. Having extra snacks in the classroom helps to make sure all students can get the energy they need in the middle of the morning, and can have access to healthy and nutritious food without feeling excluded or singled out. We have offered these snacks throughout the year, and they have gone very well with many students being able to take advantage. Now we just need a restock of our supplies as we approach our last trimester!
