Our classroom is diverse and has many greatly-varied levels of learners. Some of my students are in specialized programs for part of the day while others are being serviced for difficulties in reading, math, and social skills as well as those learning English.
These kids have great imaginations and are full of wonder for learning.
My students are continually moving and the energy level is always high. They are creators, they think outside the box.
Our school is 50% free and reduced lunch. Some students in my class have been several places around the world and others have not left the city in which they live.
Students at my school have a wonderful opportunity to learn in the courtyard. Unfortunately, there is no shade. The umbrellas will attach to picnic bench style desks that the students use and will keep them safe from the sun.
Kids are eager to learn in an outside setting.
These umbrellas will help students be able to participate without worrying about sunburn, as well, giving them a break from the heat. The best part is that all students in the school will benefit from this. They will be able to use them as they complete science units in all grade levels. It will become a beautiful community space where all students can get outside and learn.
