Help me give my students sun protection and moisture-wicking clothes to wear as they are out in the hot sun!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Hong's classroom raised $4,984

My Project
Members of the W.O.R.M.S (We Offer Rich Moist Soil) Club are in the hot sun, moving bags of soil, sifting soil, making bioremediation balls (think of the Genki AlaWai balls, made with Effective Microorganism solution), putting food into the worm composts or tumblers. We also walk to our launch site along the Ala Wai, where we dump the bioremediation balls into the water to support Genki Ala Wai's mission to make the Ala Wai Canal fishable and swimmable.
Though my students are happy to work in the sun (often with no sunscreen), I'd like them to be in attire that represents our school colors and keeps them cool and protected in the sun.
So many of my students wear hand-me-down clothes; I'd like them to be in new clothes that not only make them feel good but make them feel cool - literally!
More than half of students from low‑income households
