This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I serve as the Dean of students for grade 6, 7, and 8. We are a Title 1 school and a portion of the students we serve come from low-income families. It is my priority to serve our students' mental, emotional, and physical needs. Our students require basic school needs in order to be prepared for what the school year has to offer. This is not easy for all of our families.
Our students deserve to be prepared to face a world that is ever changing.
We want to ensure our students do not have to worry about not having, ensure our students are not experiencing food insecurity, and ensure they're given what is necessary for proper hygiene. We treat our students like they are our own children because we really are a family school.
My Project
Students do not have enough access to hygiene products they need to remain clean. As our middle school students grow, their bodies change and they require those very products to maintain a healthy body.
A clean student won't have to worry about feeling dirty.
With this project, I seek to provide our students with the necessary hygiene products to remain clean. How a student feels about themselves impacts how they learn. If they know we have the hygienic supplies they needs to do so will keep them focused on their academics.
