Staying Calm - It Makes Sense

Help me give my students a calming classroom environment with a variety of sensory fidget items (stress balls, calming strips, beads, matchbox cars, pop-its, liquid tiles, etc.), fluorescent light filters, and individual cushion seating.

My Project

Sensory items allow students to strengthen their fine motor skills while exploring and learning through their senses. It also provides students a unique opportunity to work through emotions that can build up throughout the school day.

With all that is going on in the world, I would like to provide my students with a calming classroom environment.

The fluorescent light filters, individual cushion spots, and rug will be used to create that overall calming classroom environment and a calming center. Each student will be provided with sensory items of their choosing to use when needed during the school day. This will help promote positive student behavior and a deeper focus on their learning.
