Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This school year, I will have 25 first graders that I am sure are ready to experience a full day of making friends and learning. These students have not been to school in over a year. I want to make it a fun and seamless year. Our school is a Title I school in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood in Chicago. My students are bilingual learners and are excited to know how to speak and read in two languages.
We have a great school community, supportive admin, and wonderful families.

My Project
We are in dire need of updating our classroom library. The books are physically old and worn. They are not appealing to the kids. I want some new, fresh books that the students are excited to pick up and read.
I want fresh winter read aloud that we can read just for fun!
Reading should be fun and exciting and it can be with a fresh update. I am slowly updating all of the topics and genres in our classroom library. I am adding both Spanish and English titles. Read for fun!
