My students need coats, gloves, scarves, and ear muffs for this chilly New York City weather. I have some students that are in very poor living conditions and this might cheer them up a bit.

My Students
I teach at a dual language charter school in the South Bronx. My scholars challenge themselves daily in all content areas in both English and Spanish. This year I have the privilege of working in an all girls school. The most important part of working in an all girls school is that I can teach these young ladies the potential and power in being a girl. The school culture places importance on academic achievement and the arts. The schools provides these young ladies with the opportunity to take dancing lessons in which they explore diverse genres of music and dance. Also, the young girls learn how to play the violin. Yes! the violin! The schools values the arts. They understand there is a strong connection between academic success to music and the arts.
My Project
We need your help! The chilly New York City days are approaching and donating a coat, scarf, ear muffs, hat, and gloves to someone in need can help keep them warm. Let's keep these scholars warm this cold winter season!
Furthermore, having these warming items can help students stay warm when they are commuting to and from school.
Many people may think of a coat as something warm and fashionable however some students in my class don't have that basic necessity. Donating to this project is a great way to do a good deed and help make a difference for a child in need.
