This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
During this time of stay in place not only have my classroom students been effected but my student athletes are also having a hard time. Some of them missed their first chance at playing at the high school level and some of them have missed their last chance at playing for their high school team. They worked hard to make the team while still maintaining a high GPA. They continue to study hard but are saddened by not being able to also work hard on the field.
My Project
I have encouraged my student athletes to continue staying in shape during this time of stay safe, stay home. One of their goals is to run/walk at least one mile each day until they reach three miles a day. Running and walking allows them to practice social distancing while still staying active. They can easily track how far the have gone or how much further they need to go with the use of a pedometer. I can’t wait to mail them their pedometer with a note of encouragement that things will be back to normal soon.
