This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The pool floaties, cooler, and sunscreen I am requesting will make a significant impact by ensuring that all my students can fully participate in our end-of-year field trip to Barton Springs Pool in a safe and enjoyable way. Many of my students do not have access to floatation devices, and providing them with these resources will allow them to feel secure, confident, and included in this experience. The addition of a cooler will help keep refreshments cold, ensuring that students stay hydrated and energized throughout the trip, while sunscreen will protect them from sunburn, allowing them to focus on having fun rather than worrying about the heat. This trip is more than just a fun outing—it is an opportunity for students to learn about water safety, build confidence in a new environment, and develop social-emotional skills by celebrating their hard work together. My goal for this project is to create an equitable and memorable experience where every student, regardless of their background or swimming ability, can enjoy the day comfortably and safely. My students are incredibly hardworking, curious, and resilient, and they deserve a celebration that allows them to explore, play, and enjoy a special moment with their peers. Your support will ensure that every child has the resources they need to fully engage in this experience and leave with lasting memories of a well-earned reward.
