This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine walking into a classroom that instantly feels creative, inspiring, and alive with energy. That’s the experience I want to create for my high school English Language Arts students—with your help.

I’m requesting donations for neon signs that will light up our classroom with motivating messages and a unique, modern aesthetic.

These signs won’t just be decorations; they’ll help us establish an atmosphere that feels welcoming, imaginative, and reflective of the powerful thinking and storytelling that happens in our space every day.

Whether it’s a glowing “Read More Books,” “Speak Your Truth,” or “Create,” these bright visuals will spark curiosity, comfort, and pride in our classroom. So many of our students spend their days in plain, institutional spaces. I want our ELA room to feel like a destination—a place they want to be in, where they feel seen and inspired.

The signs will complement the creative activities we already do, from poetry slams to silent reading to collaborative writing. They’ll help set the tone for calm, focus, and expressive freedom.

Your donation will help us turn four blank walls into a dynamic and uplifting environment where students not only learn, but feel a sense of identity and belonging.
