My Students

I am a school counselor who serve students from the side of Chicago which is considered a poverty-stricken area. Our students deal with a great deal of challenges at home. Sometimes they may need a hug to get through a tough time or situation because of the violence within their community. My students show up to school eager to learn and determine to be the best scholars. However, our school is one place where they feel safe and to know that they can express themselves.

I love their resilience and their eagerness to learn!

My Project

These items will help my students stay safe and healthy. Many of my students cannot afford to bring in cleaning supplies. Also, I will provide students with some basic personal hygiene items to take home. All materials will be used to help students maintain their cleanliness habits at all times to stay clean and healthy. In addition, my students will understand that their personal hygiene is an important form of self-care that will ensure them they will live a healthy life. Finally, it is my goal to always make my students aware and independent as they grow into product citizen in our society.
