My Project
The attention span of our students has decreased post Covid, and students seem to need constant entertainment to keep learning and working in my class. The items I chose are to help some of my ADHD students who have a hard time sitting still. The fidget toys should help the students stay still when giving instructions or doing independent work, the markers are for allowing the students to work together and create models of the phenomenon being taught (one of our NGSS science practices). The calculators are to help keep students off their phones when doing calculations in our science class. And lastly, the headphones are to help block out distractions when doing online independent tutorials, interactive or simulations. Have you ever had 26 students playing the same video without headphones... pure insanity! This year I have a lot of wonderful kids who just need a little extra help staying focused on learning while in class and I think these supplies will help me be able to do so!
