Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are learning about emotion regulation. They have learned all about how to identify their feelings - how it feels in their body - and how they can gain skills and strategies to care for their emotional safety and wellness.
My students are unique and resilient!
Some are living in poverty, are being raised by a single parent, or have a parent that has been incarcerated and face many mental health challenges. Through my programming - these struggling students now have fidgets, affirmations, and a shared language around emotions and how to manage them.
I will continue to ensure that they are growing in their understanding of themselves to become their BEST despite their circumstances.
