This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are scientists. My students are mathematicians. My students are readers. My students are authors. My students are explorers. My students make discoveries each and every day.

Our Science Academy provides our students with a fast paced and rigorous STEM curriculum.

It is our mission to provide our students with a challenging and inquiry-based STEM curriculum to maximize individual potential and ensure that our students succeed in a globally community. Our goal is to expose students to as many learning opportunities that will prepare them for the future as possible, all while bringing to the forefront ideas and concepts that they may not have considered before.

My Project

My students spend more time in my classroom each day than they do any other location. With this in mind, I am setting out to provide flexible seating options for students as well as broadening the selection of books in our student library.

It's hard for anyone, let alone an elementary student, to remain in one place for 8 hours.

While our classroom includes tables and chairs, many students prefer stools or balance disks as options throughout the day.

By giving students choice in where they work and what they read, their ownership in our classroom will increase, as will our learning!
