My Students

My 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students are very inquisitive and caring. They bring a variety of experiences, needs, and abilities to classes from diverse backgrounds. We have nearly 1300 students with diverse demographics of Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, Hispanic, Asian, African-American, and Caucasian students. My middle school students are interested in STEM and healthcare.

Students need hands-on learning activities that they can explore and connect to real-world careers.

These materials will give them experiences as they explore two areas in healthcare. This allows students to learn areas of their choice and connect them to high-demand career opportunities.

My Project

Students will be able to learn by using the materials at school and from home. Students retain information and relate better when the lessons are engaging. These materials used at each learning station will help students stay motivated and have fun learning. Teachers Pay Teachers material brings activities to our classroom to allow students to learn and practice at their own level to master their skills. We will research medical careers, disease processes, body systems, medical terminology, medical math, nutrition, and public health issues. The goal is to raise awareness in personal health and knowledge of medical careers in demand in Hawaii. Students will use the knowledge and skills gained in Health Occupation Association competitions.
