State Bound...Power Lifting!!

Help me give my students the required power lifting uniforms to participate in state events that they have already qualified for.

My Students

I supervise and coach students ranging from 8-18 years old for our school district with a wide variety of intellectual, physical, and sensory impairments. I also teach various courses to students in the 8th-12th grades to help strengthen their needs and showcase their strengths.

Many of our students strive and dream of becoming professional athletes but must overcome lots of obstacles to obtain that dream first.

By providing them a chance throughout the day and participating in local tournaments for students with disabilities these students get to feel like they are winners!

My Project

Each year my students participate in various sports events for Special Olympics Arkansas on the area and state level. This year the boy athletes decided to branch out and try out the power lifting event. I took five boys to the area event and two of them qualify for the state event in May.

In order, to participate on the state level the student athletes have to have the appropriate attire or they can't participate.

The students are very excited to be able to go out of town, get to stay in a hotel for two nights, and participate on a state level. These kids and parents never dreamed a day like this would happen and now it is.
