My Students

We teach a diverse group of 4th graders from urban centers in the Bronx. All of the students in our school work hard to to uphold our Core Values. My class , in particular, has really shown interest in making big strides in their education this year and are committed to being STEADFAST in sticking to their goals. In our classroom rules the first thing my students agreed on was to never give up. They are resilient and brave.

Without the proper necessities, like paper and pencils, it would be almost impossible to teach.

Making sure we have plenty of available resources ensures that no child in our classroom needs to feel that they are unprepared for the challenges each day holds.

All of our student's families want better educational opportunities for their kids. Unfortunately, their resources are not always readily available to help foster a productive learning experience. It takes a village to raise responsible citizens so please consider becoming allies in our request for supply basics as we focus on a successful year!

My Project

Often my students are unable to provide more than a small box of pencils for themselves at the beginning of every year. I don't want any student in my classroom to ever feel unprepared because they don't have the necessary basics like a pencil.

We also need to keep extra erasers around for when we fix our mistakes.

As a teacher, I certainly don't want to have to wonder if there will be enough paper for my co-teacher and I to print assignments. Being in an ICT classroom we differentiate learning and that can mean having more that one type of printed resource depending on a student's needs.

As the Special Education teacher in this setting I like to keep student work organized so that I can show students and parents the progress that is being made as we move through the year. Therefore, a small file box will do just the trick!
