Starting with the Basics

Help me give my students the basics for a strong start to the 2025-2026 school year: reading materials and activities focused on Social Justice and Diversity, healthy snacks, instant noodles for quick, warm meals, bottled water, pencils, feminine products, disinfectant wipes, tissues.

My Project

My incoming Grade 10 Exceptional Education students are special in so many ways, from their lively, genuine personalities to their unique contributions to Lanier Jr./Sr. High School and the proud community we serve. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we are reaching out to our DonorsChoose community for support in enriching the learning experience of our students.

We are committed to building an inclusive, empathetic, and informed classroom through providing students with age-appropriate books by diverse authors and an educational board game that encourages meaningful conversations about equity, identity, and financial representation.

These materials will help us explore social justice themes in a way that resonates with our student's unique learning styles and lived experiences.

Many of our students face economic challenges that make it difficult to come to school fully equipped, and your donations of basic supplies to support our students as they return to school will enrich the learning experiences of our diverse and exceptional learners. The noodles and snacks will provide meals on the go for students who come to school hungry. The tissues and disinfectant wipes will help keep our classroom safe and healthy, and the water, pencils, and feminine products will ensure that our students have the support and confidence they need to focus on academic success.

These donations will support inclusivity and equity in our classroom, school, and community. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in our students' educational experience.
