My Project

My students are struggling with reading. They are from a low income rural school. They lack basic phonics skills to read.

Magnetic letters kit and kleen slates will help them with their encoding (spelling) and decoding (reading) skills.

The magnetic letters will be used in small groups for the students to spell the words that I dictate. The kleen slates will help them with a variety of things. I can use graphic organizers for them to gain an understanding of how text is organized. The slates will also enable them to write the words that I dictate.

I've seen great results with students manipulating these color coded letters to formulate words. It helps them to use many modes of learning while having fun.
